Detailed Itinerary

Overnight in Delhi.
Spend the day in Delhi with guided sightseeing covering many of the major monuments of India’s capital city. Start with Jama Masjid - India’s grandest mosque before proceeding to Humayun’s Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a precursor to the Taj Mahal. Other places visited will include Qutb Minar- the tallest minaret tower in Asia. Raj Ghat, the simple yet powerful memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi and the historic Red Fort. You may also explore bustling markets of Chandni Chowk and the grand colonial buildings of New Delhi.
Overnight in Delhi.
Drive to Agra in the morning (4 hours) and spend the afternoon at the Taj Mahal with a guide. Options in the evening include a walking tour in Agra’s very traditional and yet rarely visited Old City.
Overnight in Agra.
Time around Agra in the morning, maybe including a return visit to the Taj if once wasn’t enough, along with other sites- Agra Fort, the Baby Taj and more. Later depart Agra and drive 3 hours to the small town of Karauli where you can stay in a century-old palatial home with the descendants of the former rulers of this region. Karauli is a fascinating town which is little visited by tourists—local people love to stop and talk to visitors, and the pace of life here is definitely slower than in the bigger cities elsewhere on this route.
Overnight in Karauli.
Spend a full day around Karauli including a visit to the splendid City Palace which is being slowly, thoroughly, and lovingly restored to its former glory. There is also the option to visit the nearby Kali Devi Wildlife Sanctuary, which has similar wildlife to the more famous Ranthambore National Park but is far less touristic.
Overnight in Karauli.
Depart Karauli and drive 4 hours to Ranthambore, the last stronghold of the Royal Bengal tiger in Rajasthan. Take a jeep safari into the Park in the afternoon in search of not only tigers but leopards, sloth bears, nilgai, crocodiles and many more.
Overnight in Sawai Madhopur near Ranthambore.
Today you’ll take safaris into Ranthambore National Park at dawn and dusk by jeep, in the company of a well-trained naturalist who will spot wildlife and inform you about the park, its history, and its animal inhabitants.
Overnight in Sawai Madhopur near Ranthambore.
A final dawn safari into Ranthambore before breakfast. Later in the morning, drive 4 hours to Jaipur. The afternoon is free to relax or take a trip into the Old City area of Jaipur to explore the markets and bazaars, which are a paradise for shoppers.
Overnight in Jaipur.
Enjoy sightseeing in Jaipur, including Amber Fort, the City Palace, and the Palace of the Winds. The capital of Rajasthan is a unique city, equal parts ancient Mughal capital and modern metropolis. It is home to some of the most compelling markets in India. You’ll have ample time to explore the city and its myriad faces.
Overnight in Jaipur.
Drive of fly back to Delhi to connect to your international flight home.
