Detailed Itinerary

Day 01Arrivel Paro to Paro - Drive to Thimphu

Once you get off the plane you will be received by our tour manager who will escort you to your hotel in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. After checking into the hotel, visit the Simply Bhutan Museum. The visit will give you the general idea of the nation and its culture. Next visit the Buddha point at Kuensel Phodrang; where sits the statue of Buddha Dordenma. The statue fulfills an ancient prophecy dating back to the 8th century left by Guru Rinpochoe.

Then explore the city.Overnight at Thimphu (Altitude 2320m)

Day 02Day Tour

In the morning visit the National Library, Institute of Zorig Chusum and the Textile Museum. Then drive to Sangaygang and walk through hundreds of prayer flags with a beautiful view of the whole Thimphu valley. Visit Takin Reserve Center is on the way to Sangaygang and hosts the Takins (National animal of the country) which are found only in the Himalayas. Then vist the Changangkha monastery and the Memorial Chorten, which are very important land marks in the city. Conclude the Dayby visiting the Tashichhoe Dzong, this is the fortress which houses the office of the King.

Day 03Thimphu Punakha/ Wangduephodrang

As we move to Punakha you will gain altitude and get to Dochu La pass (altitude 3088m). Upon reaching there you will find 108 stupas also known as Druk Wangyel Chortens and Druk Wangyel Lhakhang.

With a favorable weather you will be able to get a par-anomic view of the Himalayan mountain range. You will also be able to see the highest peak in Bhutan Gangkarphunsum (7497m). Drive a little further and you will arrive at Royal Botanical Park at Lamperi (altitude 2100m) which is a great destination for researchers and nature lovers.

In the afternoon visit the Punakha Dzong, where the Royal Wedding of the Fifth Druk Gyalpo also took place. Then proceed to Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Temple of Fertility.

Day 04Punakha/Wangduephodrang to Paro

In the morning visit Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang and Nunnery and then head back to Paro. In rout to Paro visit the Simthokha Dzong which is the First dzong built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1627.

After checking in to the hotel in Paro, go to the Ta Dzong, it was originally built to protect the dzong as a watch tower and toDayit is established as the National Museum. Then desend to the Paro Rinpung Dzong Located on top of a hill the view from the dzong is beautiful and the architecture stunning.

In the morning hike to Taktshang Monastery or popularly known as the Tiger’s Nest (altitude 3120m). The temple is one of the most iconic land marks and religious site in the country clinging unbelievably to a cliff 900 meters above the Paro valley.

Later in the afternoon drive to Drugyel Dzong and while returning to the hotel visit Kyichu Lhakhang which was built in the 7th century making it one of the oldest Buddhist temples in the country. The significance and the value the temple holds make it one of the most precious sites in the country.
