Karnataka Adventure

09 Days / 08 Nights

Karnataka has plenty for the adventure loving visitor and on this tour you’ll spend time in Coorg for trekking and rafting, as well as visiting 2 of South India’s best National Parks, Nagarhole and Bandipur.

Detailed Itineary

  • Day 1 : Bangalore Arrival

You’ll be met on arrival in Bangalore and assisted with the transfer to your hotel. Staying near the airport means an easy departure tomorrow. Overnight in Bangalore.

  • Day 2 : Bangalore - Bandipur

Leaving the city behind, head to the expansive grasslands of Bandipur National Park. Like Nagarhole, which you’ll visit next, this is a part of the massive Nilgiri Biosphere, South India’s largest area of protected habitat. There is, however, a huge contrast between the two, with Bandipur being significantly drier and more open, meaning sightings of wildlife are easier (but numbers of animals are not as high). Take a safari in the afternoon- with luck you’ll see your first elephants today. Overnight at Bandipur.

  • Day 3 : Bandipur

Morning and afternoon safaris into Bandipur National Park; overnight in Bandipur.

  • Day 4 : Bandipur - Nagarhole

A final safari at dawn, then drive around 2 hours to Nagarhole, and start exploring this National Park with your first safari in the afternoon. Overnight at Nagarhole.

  • Day 5 : Nagarhole

Morning and afternoon safaris, at least one of which will be by boat, into the Park. Tiger, leopard and sloth bear sightings are not uncommon here, and large numbers of elephants may be encountered, particularly around the lakeshore. Overnight at Nagarhole.

  • Day 6 : Nagarhole - Coorg

Conclude the safari phase of your tour at first light, and after breakfast back at your camp or lodge, drive 4 hours or so to the Coorg district. Relax and settle in this afternoon, ahead of adventures over the next couple of days.

  • Day 7 & 8 : Coorg

Two full days around Coorg can include any combination of hiking, white-water rafting (seasonal), fishing, visits to tribal encampments or, if the safaris of the previous days have worn you out, just relax in this most beautiful setting.
