Detailed Itineary

  • Day 1 : Arrive at Dibrugarh

    Upon your arrival at the Dibrugarh Airport, the representative from Indian Panorama will receive you and assist you to get transferred to your place of stay, the Chang Bungalows, the beautiful buildings raised on stilts. Rest of the day is at your leisure to relax of to stroll around. Enjoy the Bihu dance show in the evening performed by the artistes of ethnic dance group from Dibrugarh. Overnight at Dibrugarh.

  • Day 2 : Dibrugarh Sightseeing

    This day is for visiting the different locations across Dibrugarh. The plan includes visit to the different tea plantations and tea factories to know about the CTC and orthodox tea. You can also experience a Tea Tasting session of different types of tea along with the company of one person from the Tea Estates to give you the value added information. Strolling through the lush green expanse of tea plantations is indeed gives you an insight of the step by step procedures which are at least a century old, where the dormant bushes are getting transformed to Assam Tea, kindling our senses with its deepest Aroma. Return to hotel after a pleasant experience there. Overnight stay at Dibrugarh.

    Note: The factories cannot be visited if they are non-functional. The ideal period is between March to November when the entire region is embraced with a lush green carpet. Also, Mondays are the weekly holidays for the tea factories.

  • Day 3 : Dibrugarh - Namphake - Maguri Beel - Dibrugarh

    After breakfast, drive to Naharkatiya. Visit the Namphake village inhabited by the families whose ancestors are from Tai Race. You can also visit one of the oldest Buddhist Monasteries in Assam, Namphake Monastery.

    After exploring the region preserving the ancient traditions and cultures in the form of Buddhist monasteries, vihars and their manuscripts written in a language similar to Thai, before proceeding to Tinsukia. Enjoy a boat ride at Maguri Beel, a wetland complex on the bank of Dibru River. You can also do some birdwatching while moving on the country boat. Return to Dibrugarh and rest of the day is free for you to relax. Overnight at Dibrugarh.

  • Day 4 : Dibrugarh - Pasighat (Arunachal Pradesh)

    Post breakfast, start your drive to Pasighat, the home for the Adis, remembered for their colorful costumes. En route, you will pass through India’s longest rail cum road bridge – The Bogibeel Bridge, built over River Brahmaputra. After reaching Pasighat, check into the River camp located on the banks of the Silang River. It is wonderful that the Silang river flows through Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh, in the middle of the tropical forest. After relaxing for some time, you can visit the Adi Village. Explore the region before returning to the camp. Overnight stay in the River Camp in Pasighat.

  • Day 5 : Pasighat - Damro - Pasighat

    Have an early breakfast and start your day excursion to Damro. From there you will hike using the hanging bridge, which is the longest in Arunachal Pradesh. The bridge made of canes and bamboos in a traditional method is 1000 ft long, The suspension cables holding the bridge and the walkways made of bamboos give you a spine schilling experience. You will be surprised to know that the natives of Adi Padam Tribal village cross this bridge daily to make their ends meet. After exploring the tribal village, interacting with the residents to know about their culture and traditions, you will be driving back to Pasighat from Damro. Overnight stay in the River Camp at Pasighat.

  • Day 6 : Pasighat - Roing - Tinsukia(Assam)

    This morning starts with a drive to the tribal village Roing inhabited by Idu Mishmi Tribal people. The scenic village raises from the foot of the Himalayan ranges. The snow capped peaks, turbulent rivers, mystic valleys and abundantly rich flora and fauna, make this region a wonderland. The wooden houses and the costumes used by the Idu Mishmi tribal people cannot be seen anywhere in the world, the chance never to be missed. Continue your drive to Tinsukia and en route you will drive through India’s longest rviver bridge Dola Sadiya. Reach Tinsukia and rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in Tinsukia.

  • Day 7 : Tinsukia - Wakro - Tinsukia

    Post breakfast, start your drive to Wakro, the scenic location that can be reached in 3hrs travel. En route, visit Emphang village to meet Khampti tribes. The natives of Khampti tribal village are the descendants of the Shan race from the northwestern Myanmar. They have their own script and language known as Lik-Tai. It is an unique experience to interact with those tribes and visit their houses built on raised tilts with thatched roofs. Wooden planks are used for flooring and split bamboo are the walls of the houses. The day excursion includes a visit to the Buddhist Pagoda at Chowkham known as Golden Pagoda. The tribal population in this region follow the Theravada Buddhism and you can also see the Sleeping Buddha in a nearby Buddhist Vihar here.

    Continue your drive to reach Wakro, the homeland of Msihmi tribes, known for their unique dressing styles and haircuts. Mishmis are nature worshippers and festival lovers. Reh is the most important festival of Mishmis celebrated during the 1st week of February every year. Explore the rich tradition and culture of Mishmis, interact with them to know more before returning to Tinsukia. Overnight stay in Tinsukia.

  • Day 8 : Tinsukia - Sivasagar - Majuli

    After breakfast, start your drive to the erstwhile capital of Ahom rulers, Sivasagar. Dotted with ruins of temples, palaces and monuments, Sivasagar has numerous tales about the Ahom Chieftains who ruled this region for more than 600 years. Continue your drive to reach Neematighat from where a country boat will take you to the Floating heritage hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure.

  • Day 9 : Majuli Island

    Post breakfast, a country boat will take you to Majuli Islands, world’s one of the largest water islands. Majuli islands is acclaimed as heartland of Assamese Culture. A full day tour in SUV on the island will take you to the Satras or the monasteries practicing Vaishnavism, a subsect of Hinduism. Continue to reach Uttar Kamballabari Satra, known for its monastic dance form. You can also interact with the monks who can explain you well the cultural transformations of Assam since the ancient ages. The scenic locations are perfect to go for a walk before you reach the ferry point at Kamalabari. The country boat will take you back to Neemati Ghat, from where you can reach your place of stay. Overnight Stay in the Floating Heritage Hotel.

  • Day 10 : Majuli - Kaziranga

    Post breakfast, a country boat will take you to Neemati Ghat and you will start your drive to Kaziranga, the National Park, acclaimed as World Heritage Site. After relaxing in the hotel for a short while, proceed to visit Kaziranga Orchid Park Cum Biodiversity Conservation Centre. With the intense involvement of volunteers and experts, the Orchid Park has evolved with 500 varieties of Orchids, Greenhouse, lakes with boating and angling facilities and small tree houses catch your eyes among the other attractions. Stroll through the region to understand the efforts imparted to conserve and improvise the different varieties of orchids and other fauna. You can also enjoy the Borgeet and Xattriya Dance forms performed by expert dancers. Return to hotel and rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

  • Day 11 : Explore Kaziranga National Park

    Full day is for you to explore and have an insight of Kaziranga National Park, acclaimed as the World Heritage Site. More than 75% of world’s total population of Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros is found in this park. An early morning Elephant safari will give you an excellent view of the jungle from the back of the elephant. Jeep safaris post breakfast and post lunch can take you to the different regions inside the woods near the herd of forest elephants, rhinos and other forest animals. Before returning to the hotel, enjoy a cultural show in the evening coupled with a visit to Kaziranga Orchid Park cum Biodviersity Reservation Centre. Overnight Stay at Kaziranga

  • Day 12 : Kaziranga - Tezpur - Guwahati

    Start early in the morning and drive towards Guwahati, which will take at least five hours to reach. On the way, after reaching Tezpur, you will be taken on a ride in the country boat on River Brahmaputra. The ride itself is termed as Dolphin Boat Safari as the possibility of spotting the gangetic Dolphins with most powerful sonic sense among the dolphins across the world. View of Koliabhomara bridge is wonderful while riding on the boat. Koliabhomara bridge connects the north and south banks of Assam. Continue your cruise to reach a small island. Stay there for some time with few refreshments before returning to the land.

    Continue your drive to reach Sualkuchi Village, popular for silk weaving. Almost every house in Sualkuchi has a shed with Bamboo loom and the click-clacking sound can be heard wherever you go in the village. The Silk weaving profession gives employment to more 25,000 people round the year. Drive to reach Guwahati and check into the hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

  • Day 13 : Depart from Guwahati Airport

    Depending on your departure schedule, you can opt to visit the popular Kamakhya temple in Guwahati. Kamakhya temple is one among the 51 Shakthi Shrines in India. Devotees and tourists throng the temple round the year. It is believed that worshipping here will help people get rid of the ill effects of Black Magic and get united with their family and friends. After your visit is over, you will be assisted to reach the Guwahati Airport and board your flight back to your homeland.
