Samaspur Bird Sanctuary
The Samaspur bird sanctuary, which is situated in the Samaspur area close to Salon town in the Rai Bareli district of Uttar Pradesh, is dedicated solely to the protection of bird species, including a variety of migratory birds. Only 780 hectares make up the relatively tiny size of this sanctuary. The establishment of this sanctuary in 1987 was motivated by the need to preserve and safeguard the wetland, with a focus on the local and migratory birds as well as the preservation of their natural habitat, which includes aquatic flora and animals. More than 250 different bird species are organically acclimated to this sanctuary. This sanctuary also hosts a variety of migratory birds during the summer months. Compared to other hot locations, this area offers some reprieve to birds despite having a generally hot and harsh climate. Nestled among the best and most sought-after birding spots, this sanctuary boasts a fleet of over 250 species. The refuge serves as a permanent home to vultures, kingfishers, Spot Bill Teel Commons, and other species that whistle at the trees.
The common house bird, Surkhab, can also be found in great numbers within this sanctuary. With the exception of birds, the lake at Samaspur is home to over 11 different types of fish. Over 5,000 kilometres separate migratory birds from their destination, where they spend a few days in favourable weather. Some of the birds use this marsh as a breeding and nesting site. For several years, bird enthusiasts and tourists have found this sanctuary to be an appealing destination.
Bird sanctuaries are generally located in stunning natural settings, providing a calm atmosphere surrounded by a variety of plants, water features, and lush vegetation. For those who enjoy the outdoors, these locations are breath taking.
