Among the famous tiger reserves, Buxa tiger reserve is also one of them which is situated in the alipurduar District, west Bengal. It was established in 1983 as the 15th tiger reserve in India and the name buxa is derived from the popular buxa fort.This fort is situated in a dense forest that was used as a high-protection prison and detention camp in the 1930s by the British rulers.
