Darrah National Park, now the third tiger reserve in Rajasthan, was established in 2004. Formerly known as Darrah Game Sanctuary, this serene sanctuary is nestled in the southern eastern part of Kota town, along the eastern bank of the Chambal River and its tributaries. This reserve is a testament to the rich biodiversity of the region, consisting of three wildlife sanctuaries - Darrah WLS, Chambal WLS, and Jaswant Sagar WLS. Originally part of the Maharaja of Kota's hunting grounds, this national park is a lush haven for various wildlife species, Darrah National Park, holds a rich history as a former royal game hunting reserve of the Maharaja of Kota also, throughout history, the Marathas, Rajputs, and British sought refuge in this strategic forest during times of war. The sanctuary is now a vibrant home to a diverse array of wildlife, including colorful birds like blue-tailed and green bee-eaters, drongos, bush quail, and Indian rollers, reptiles, and animals including the Wolf, Sloth Bear, Chinkara, and Leopard.

One of the popular attractions near Darrah National Park, is Gagron Fort near Jhalawar. Situated on the outskirts of the sanctuary, this fort is surrounded by the Kalisindh River on three sides, adding to its allure. Visitors can have a remarkable experience through Darrah National Park, most popular and exhilarating jungle safaris which happens in two shifts. The first shift operates from 6.30 AM-9.30 AM and the second shift begins from 3.00PM -6.00 PM, providing the chance to see a wide array of animals and birds in their natural habitat.
