Odisha, previously called Orissa, had its name changed to Odra Desha. In 2011, the name changed and transformed into Odisha from Orissa. This state in eastern India is surrounded by the Bay of Bengal coastline. According to Buddhist sources, the Kalinga dynasty ruled the place during the 6th and 4th centuries BCE.
