Lahaul Spiti City Guide
Chenab River (Chandrabhage River) add extra beauty to the place. During winter we have to snug as a bug in a rug as the temperature level goes below zero degrees Celsius. Spiti is a white snowy land, whereas Lahaul is green with leaves that have just taken a fresh bath in the flowing rivers. Trekking enthusiasts can find an excellent experience in the Pattan valley, where the two rivers, Chandra and Bagha, have carved their way through the land. If you’re planning a trip to this region, you’ll definitely need to try some of its famous local dishes to whet your culinary appetites. Most of the dishes are based on traditional Tibetan or Punjabi cuisine. Lahaul’s and Spiti’s mokthuk and thenkthuk are some of the most popular recipes, and it’s easy to see why. You’ll be tempted by the flavor and appearance of this dish. If you’re looking for a refreshing option, you can take a locally brewed chaang beer to warm up in those high altitudes.
