VISAKHAPATNAM: Here’s finally some good news for Vizagites who are fed up of travelling long hours by regular passenger trains from Vizag to Secunderabad. The South Central Railway is mulling launching a 02203 Premium Superfast Train between Vizag and Secunderabad for which the trial run is slated to be held on April 20.
The premium train has been designed to be one of the fastest trains on the Vizag-Secunderabad route, covering a distance of 701 kms in just 9 hours and 50 minutes.The premium train is expected to beat the travel time of Garibrath Express by 1 hour and 25 minutes and the Godavari Superfast Express by 2 hours and 20 minutes.
The train will have only two stoppages, Samalkota and Rajahmundry, in both the directions. What’s more, only confirmed tickets will be issued for the train, which will have fares of Rs 450 for sleeper class, Rs 1180 for AC 3-tier and Rs 1670 for AC 2-tier for a Vizag-Secunderabad ticket. Adult fares will be charged for all passengers irrespective of their age. However, there will be no refunds except when the train is fully cancelled and no concession will be applicable. The booking of tickets too can be done only through IRCTC’s portal and tickets will not be issued manually at reservation counters.
